HKRS Announces Spring 2015 Series; Over 75 Locations
HKRS Welcomes Over 15 New Locations and expands to Puerto Rico
Thornton, PA (January 13, 2015) – Registration is now open for Healthy Kids Running Series (“HKRS”) Spring 2015. Expanding from its 60 locations last fall, HKRS is now accepting registrations in over 75 towns across 20 states and Puerto Rico, which includes 15 new programs to begin in April.
HKRS has expanded upon its network in its existing states and added new locations in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Puerto Rico. HKRS will begin the second weekend in April and continue for five weeks until mid-May, omitting Mother’s Day May 10th. Please consult each location’s specific webpage via www.HealthyKidsRunningSeries.org for specific dates, times and locations.
“Towards the end of 2013 and into 2014, our staff made a commitment to growing this program and focused on turning it into a national opportunity. With projections for the fall, we expect to be in 100 towns before the end of the year which is a great benchmark for us” said Scott Ely, VP of Operations. “In doing so, we’re hopeful to impact 20,000 runners in 2015, nearly double 2014, and that’s something we’re very excited about!”
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five week, nonprofit youth running program for kids ages 2-14. Children Pre-K to 8th grade are invited to participate in the running series. Races typically take place on weekends and children run the following age appropriate distances.

|2nd & 3rd Grade||½ Mile|
|4th & 5th Grade||1 Mile|
