YMCA Camp Tockwogh Renews as 2016 HKRS Sponsor
YMCA Camp Tockwogh Supports HKRS in PA and DE to Foster Their Goal of Healthy Living
Thornton, PA (December 17, 2015) – Healthy Kids Running Series (“HKRS”) is pleased to renew their partnership with YMCA Camp Tockwogh, a spectacular rural camp on 309 well-preserved aces spread over a mile and a half of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay shoreline.
YMCA Camp Tockwogh’s mission is to foster healthy living and social responsibility through the development of independence, confidence, lifelong learning and character in youth, teens, and families. Camp Tockwogh offers traditional, coed and overnight summer camp, retreats, conferences and year-round teen leadership programs.
Commenting on the renewal, HKRS’s VP of Operations, Scott Ely, said “We learned in 2015 that there are a multitude of synergies between our programs. Many of our participants and families partake in both HKRS and camps at Camp Tockwogh, and together our missions foster a year-round focus on healthy living and building character in our youth.”
The partnership will focus on ten HKRS locations in Southeastern PA and Delaware, where are majority of the camps patrons live. PA locations include; Concord Township, Havertown, Downingtown, Media, Springfield, Wayne and West Chester. DE locations include Wilmington, Middletown and Newark.
The Spring 2016 series marks the 13th series of HKRS, since its 2009 inception in West Chester, PA. In April, Healthy Kids Running Series will be offered in 110+ locations across twenty five states, the largest season to date for HKRS.
