Race Bib 101 – How to fill out and pin your runner’s race bib!

Race bibs are an important part of Healthy Kids Running Series! They allow Community Coordinators to record results, and the kids love feeling like an official runner!

WHERE DO I GET RACE BIBS?
    • Packet Pick Up: Some HKRS locations have a “Packet Pick Up” before race day 1 where you can pick up the race bibs, participant t-shirt, and sponsor goodies!
    • Race Day One: Other locations hand out race bibs and shirts before week 1. Make sure to arrive at least 15 min early!
HOW DO I FILL OUT A RACE BIB?
    • Name: Include the runners last name and first initial
    • School Grade / Race Distance / Age : List their school grade (or age for pre-k), race distance, and gender
    • Pro tip!: Make sure you print and the ink won’t smudge in the rain!

Where should I attach the race bib?
    • Front of Runner’s Shirt: Always pin race bibs to the front of the runner’s shirt! All runners need to be able to be identified as official HKRS participants quickly. If the race bib is on their back we won’t know they’re supposed to be at the starting line!
    • No Pins On The Tear Off: Don’t pin the tear off tab with your runner’s name on it. Finish line volunteers need to be able to tear off the tab to track results and we don’t want to rip anyone’s shirt!

Forgot your race bibs and /or pins at home? No problem! Community Coordinators always have extra. Be prepared to provide your runner’s name and division so they can confirm you are officially registered.
